Needs and Opportunities

I wanted to do photography, but I also wanted to do something outside of my comfort zone. Usually I take pictures of objects or of nature. For this project I wanted to do pictures of people. I’ve noticed that a lot of girls feel insecure when taking pictures without makeup on. Society seems to tell people that they need it to look okay. I wanted to do photography of people with little to no makeup on so we can see that everyone is beautiful. Another goal for this project is to show the city of Auburn by using it in the majority of the pictures I take.

Audience / Clients / Users

I think all young people can benefit from this project, especially young girls. I also want the community to see that our city has a lot of beautiful places for photography.

Mentors

My parents, my cousin, and my friends can help me with this project. I will talk to them about my goal for this project. Hopefully I can use some of them to model and some of them will help me edit pictures.

Timeline

Product

The actual product I will show is a PowerPoint, and I also want to print out some of the pictures that people can hold and pass around. In my PowerPoint I will include the information about how I edited it and where I took it.

Reality Check

I will use my phone for editing and probably end up using it for some of the photography. I want to try to use a real camera for at least some of the pictures because I have never used one before. I will also need money for printing the pictures. Hopefully the costs will be minimal so I will be able to use my own money for this.

Conclusion

I am so excited about this project because I will get to show the beauty of people and our city and places around it. I also love photography so this makes me excited to create more art.
